The Flood - A Blessing in Disguise!

We had a flood in the basement suite this Spring.  It was scary at the time but the updates make it all worthwhile.  Chris ended up laying all the floor so that we could improve the quality of flooring.  It meant long days for him as he had just started a new job.  Also, Isabelle had just been born when it came time to lay the floor and put up the casings and baseboards so I was relegated to "single mom" status for awhile.  It was a bit overwhelming but it is so wonderful to have our tenant back in this month and have the extra work come to an end.  We still need to paint a bunch of the trim, the various doors and we would love to re-paint the yellow kitchen and its cabinets but that can wait until the Fall.

I'm posting this for family members who have seen our suite before and may want to see how the new floor turned out. :)

Luf-oo

Graby is heading into an incredibly cute stage recently where he is trying out all sorts of new words...last night he said "luf-oo" for the first time at bedtime (love you).  Also, now when I ask him to say thank you for something he has been given, he often says, "welcome" like I'm the one who has been thanking him. :)

Other things he is saying...
digga - ditchdigger
pow - snowplough
way-oo - whale
yucky
co-co - cocoa mini-wheats
geen - green
boo - blue
choos - shoes
tocks - socks
keys
home - whenever he doesn't want to be somewhere, he pulls the "home" card

He can say so much more (all the Thomas characters) but I'll add to them as I think of them!
Love this little face!

Heading into the Homestretch!

All of our pantry on the kitchen table.
Showing off the belly

Kif helping to empty it out...found things we didn't know we had, although he likes pears so this is just an overwhelmed face, nothing to do with what he is holding.

About to begin the organization...26.5 weeks, this angle is not true to actual size of baby belly:)
Yikes!
My work here is done!!
This week marks the start of the third trimester!  I thought that this pregnancy would feel so much longer than the last because I am not working full time but surprisingly it has gone much faster.  Today I finally tackled our pantry.  Since about 2 weeks after we moved in, it has been in complete disarray and I have ended up buying items that I later found hidden at the back of the pantry.  This fall I was in survival mode with feeling sick and not knowing anyone in the community, so I kept pushing jobs like this back.  The sunny weather outside mixed with my nesting instincts brought Spring cleaning on a little early (also the fact that it was a million degrees below and I didn't want to actually venture outside today). Some exciting finds amidst my cleaning were canned peaches from mom that I had totally forgotten about and a whole bunch of candy and chocolate from various events throughout the year.  I had to keep Kristin's voice in the back of my mind reminding me how many times I had already moved the same packages of tea from house to house...needless to say, the pantry is also a little more empty.  Anyways, here are the pictures of today's adventure as well as some updated pictures of the baby belly.  I'm hoping this nesting continues and all my closets are organized by June :)

Little Nemo Siebring

19 Weeks
Well, I can't believe I'm halfway through this pregnancy.  Gray doesn't know what's about to hit him 20 weeks from now.  I thought I'd post the ultrasound picture and another of the baby belly.  We can't wait to meet you Nemo...we are excited to find out whether you are a boy or a girl, although our guess is a boy... for all those wondering, we are not basing this on any evidence, just a hunch.
