A Pumpkin for "THE PUMPKIN"

We visited the Pumpkin Patch to try out Gray's Halloween Costume a week early.  He loved the giant pot of pumpkins and didn't want to come out.

Gray wondered why parents do this to their kids (because it's so cute)!

We saw the corn maze and found out that Gray is over 2 feet tall.
We can't wait until tomorrow when there's candy involved and a reason for putting on the costume (besides looking cute).

Note the pumpkin basket for collecting the goods...

Getting Back into Shape

I went to Yoga on the beach this morning as part of my attempt to get back into shape after a year of "growing".  I found myself thinking that it is actually the place where I can stretch out all the aches and pains of my real exercise...carrying around a fifteen pound baby.  Everywhere I go feels like a big outing once I get the car seat, stroller, giant diaper bag (although I can't really blame this on the baby as I just like having big purses, even though I have to get Chris to carry it around for me...he puts his wallet in there too by the way so it's fair :)) and Gray into the car.  It really is a workout just going to the grocery store, so maybe it isn't the Yoga getting me back into shape but the baby himself.

Early Morning with the Babe

Usually I try to catch a little more sleep after Gray wakes up at 5:30 but this morning I decided to embrace being up early (I really can't complain because Gray goes to bed at about 8pm and sleeps through the night).  I took Gray out for a walk and got a coffee.  It was beautiful and fresh after the rain last night and kind of reminded me of mornings in Uganda before it got too hot.  By the time we got back, it was already time for Gray's first nap.  I'd love to think I'm going to do that every morning now but tomorrow if I have the choice to sleep a little longer, I'll probably take it.

Sofus the Norwegian Giraffe

Gray has just started using his first toy.  He loves to chew it and hold it; that's about all he can do right now.  He gets a little scared when it actually squeaks.  Sofus is a little giraffe that is actually called Sophie and has a French flag on the box.  It seems to be the toy that everyone must have as I've seen Sophie all over Kelowna in strollers and diaper bags.  We (Grandma or Bobo as we call her) decided that it needed to be more of a boy toy so Sophie is now Sofus (after great-grandpa).
